Frances Olivia Bryan Bowden, 78, passed away due to complications from diabetes and congestive heart failure on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with her family at her side in Port Orchard, Washington. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date in Fort Valley, GA. 

Born in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan, Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Valley for many years prior to moving to Washington for health reasons. She was a devoted mom and wife first and foremost; worked at The American Camellia Society and Peach County Public Library for many years. 

Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her friends and family, reading, spending time with her pets, and gardening. 

Survivors include her devoted husband of 59 years, Ronnie Bowden; their sons Philip Bowden his wife Elaine Bowden of Suwanee, Georgia, and James Clayton Bowden his wife Jeanne Bowden of Port Orchard, Washington; grandchildren Madisyn Mientek, Elizabeth Bowden, Matthew Bowden, sister-in-law Helen Bryan, sister-in-law Linda Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan, and her brothers Jerry Clayton Bryan and David Charles Bryan.

 In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to honor Mrs. Bowden be sent to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or the charity of the donor's choice.
