Elizabeth "Joanne" (Hampton) Guibert, 82, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Port Orchard, Washington.

Born on January 7, 1943, in Stover, Missouri, to Leonard and Dorothy Hampton, Joanne was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an avid genealogist and took great joy in tracing her family's roots. As a student at Clinton High School, she was active in numerous clubs and was recognized by her classmates as the "Most Artistic" in the class of 1961.

After graduating high school with academic honors, Joanne completed a Bachelor of Science in Education in just three years from the University of Central Missouri. During her time there, she found a sense of community and friendship as a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority.

Following her graduation, Joanne married David Guibert and embarked on a career in education: teaching art at Sherwood High School near Garden City, Missouri. Joanne and Dave relocated several times due to his work with Boeing; spending time in South Dakota, Florida, North Dakota, and Santa Maria, California. They later moved to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California, where she raised her son, Jason, and lived for 50 years in the same house in North Hills. She had a long and successful career in property management, holding positions at several companies including Lomis & Nettleton and The Jasin Company.

Joanne was a lover of country music and could often be found dancing with her friends at the Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth, CA. She shared two long and loving relationships first with Loren “Larry” Bain and later with Tony Andrade, both of whom preceded her in death.

Earlier this year, Joanne fulfilled a lifelong dream, embarking on a cruise from Los Angeles and visiting San Francisco, Victoria, and Vancouver. She recently relocated to Port Orchard, Washington, to be closer to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons, attending their sporting events and sharing weekly family dinners.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Hampton of Clinton, Missouri, her son, Jason (Moira) Guibert of Port Orchard, Washington, and her grandsons, Gavin and Sam.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
